Devotion
A poem by Sean Kathryn Bratton
Tell me something I long to hear. Tell me I’m yours, no one else can come near.
Tell me something even if it’s a lie, tell me you need me, without me you’ll die.
Tell me something even if it’s fucked up, that without us together your world is corrupt.
Tell me you can’t live without me, that I’m yours, no one can touch. Tell me you’ve searched your whole life to find me, that I’m yours and you’ll never budge.
Ask me whose it is, then make me say it back. Don’t make me guess, make devotion, fill in every crack.
Worship me as I am, I’ll return in ten fold. I know every practice, my pussy drips in gold.
Fall on your knees to me, kiss my ten toes. I’ll anoint your head with oil, then ride til we both come home.
I’m a basic girl, with basic needs. Just ask me whose it is and I promise you’ll see.
Domination is a two way street, there’s one in the physical and one in the unseen.
I want it all, I need it bad. Paint me in water color, up and down, back to back.
It takes two to tango, the dark to make the light. I need a mixture of both, I need every piece of the pie.
Trust in me and I’ll trust in you. Where I’m from, I know exactly what to do.
Just tell me you need me, want me, will never let me go. I’ll protect you where it matters, the unseen is all I know.
